A tiny flipper. A big personality.
Somewhere in the heart of SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi’s Arctic Realm… a brand-new story has just begun. Our walrus family just got a little bigger, and a whole lot cuter.Say hello to our newest arrival: a curious, whisker-wiggling walrus calf who’s already making waves (and stealing hearts) from the moment she arrived.
Let’s get to know the star of the moment.
SMALL BUT MIGHTY
Don’t let the size fool you. This calf is on a fast track to becoming one of the Arctic’s most impressive marine mammals.
Gaining approximately 0.9 kg per day, she won’t stay little for long. With time, she’ll learn the iconic features walruses are known for…like using vibrissae (whiskers) to detect food in murky waters and bodies built for cold waters.
Everything about a walrus is designed for survival, from blubber that keeps them warm. And it all starts here… with this tiny calf.
